To ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, providing a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices, staff rooms, and communal areas according to the daily cleaning schedule.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste in a safe and hygienic manner.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, polish, and dust all designated areas.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, wash basins, and fixtures daily.
- Refill soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers as required.
- Ensure that all cleaning materials are used and stored safely, in line with COSHH regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues, health and safety concerns, or damage to the Site Manager or Cleaning Supervisor.
- Lock or unlock areas if required (dependent on shift pattern).
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the safety of children is a top priority.
Qualifications
- Previous cleaning experience (does not have to be in a school).
- Ability to work independently and take pride in work.
- Reliability, punctuality, and honesty.
- Understanding of health and safety, including safe use of cleaning chemicals.
- Basic literacy and communication skills.
