Overview

Masterclass Education are working with a SEN Primary school in the Crowborough area who currently require classroom support assistants to join their team. You will be providing one-to-one support to students, assisting them with their learning and encouraging their personal development at every stage. The school supports students who have special educational needs, including moderate, severe or profound multiple learning difficulties, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, assisting with their learning and personal development.
  • Help create a calm and supportive learning environment and support behaviour management where needed.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Calm and caring
  • Resilient
  • Good at deescalating difficult situations
  • Background in SEN (whether personal experience, volunteering, or school setting)
  • Experience in a similar role (care, childcare, support worker) or be a trainee new to the profession is also acceptable
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Passion to support and empower children and young people
  • DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
