Package

£42,650 - £67,400 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

An opportunity is available for an experienced civil or structural engineer to support capital engineering projects.

Successful Candidates will be responsible for:
  • Providing structural/civil engineering advice to project teams

  • Support the development of corporate guides and standards related to civil/structural engineering.

  • Providing independent design review of engineering substantiation

  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure overall design compliance

  • Attending and engaging in design review meetings

  • Undertaking competency assessments of design engineers

  • Undertaking structural inspections following storm events

  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation/standards associated with civil/structural engineering

  • Mentoring civil/structural engineers and supporting their professional development

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
  • An understanding of the design process for building services, facilities, process plant and equipment

  • Previous design management experience of multiple or discrete engineering packages of works that provide a design solution to a set of requirements in either the Conventional or Nuclear industries

  • Good oral, written and presentational skills with a particular aptitude for report, documentation and letter writing

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure effective communication to all levels to both internal and external personnel

Ideally, we would expect candidates to have a Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualifications and experience.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
