A great opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join a growing consultancy in York. This role is ideal for an engineer with 1 to 3 years' experience who wants to develop quickly, gain wide project exposure and work within a friendly and forward thinking civil engineering team. With a growing workload and a strong reputation across the region, this is a brilliant environment for an ambitious engineer to build technical expertise and progress toward chartership.

As a Civil Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across a wide range of sectors, including highways, drainage, commercial, residential, industrial, petrochemical, food and energy. You will prepare technical drawings, design calculations and specifications while contributing to integrated design solutions within multidisciplinary teams. You will take responsibility for planning your workload, supporting colleagues during busy periods and maintaining high technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD and support design work in Civil 3D and InfoDrainage.
  • Assist with highways and drainage design for a variety of projects.
  • Produce calculations, reports and technical specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and external project teams.
  • Support planning and design delivery across multiple schemes.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant design codes and industry regulations.
  • Contribute to project planning, resource coordination and technical quality.
About You
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ideally 1 to 3 years' civil engineering experience.
  • Good understanding of highways or drainage design.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills plus experience with Civil 3D and InfoDrainage is desirable.
  • Keen to progress toward chartership.
  • Strong communication and teamworking skills.
  • Proactive, organised and enthusiastic.
