Overview

The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour. The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year, and it simply couldn't happen without the energy, warmth and dedication of our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that keeps customers returning all year round.

This role is a great opportunity whether you're just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you. While this is a temporary contract, there may be potential for a permanent role later depending on opportunities in your local area.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Interaction: You\'ll offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight our amazing offers to ensure everyone has an enjoyable shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: You\'ll wrap up purchases at the counter or support our self-checkout systems with energy and efficiency.
  • Stock Management: You\'ll keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busiest shopping season.
  • Store Presentation: You will help ensure the store area always looks its best.
  • Online order support: You may assist with deliveries, picking, and packing for online orders as needed.
What you\'ll need to have

Full training is provided for this role, but these are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience that leaves a lasting impression.
  • Operations Ready: Ability to balance customer care with daily shop floor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Ability to learn about and use new technology, including operating handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: A collaborative, one-team mindset to help achieve store goals while having fun.
  • Physical Stamina: You\'ll be on your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
  • Brand Ambassador: People who love Boots ethos, products and services and can share them with customers.

It would be great if you also have

Desirable experience but not essential:

  • Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment
  • Familiar with Boots products and services to help customers

We are recruiting Christmas Customer Advisors for our Stafford, Queens retail park store. A variety of shifts are available between 10.00 and 18.00 and may include weekends. Shift patterns will be discussed at interview. Available shift patterns: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10.00-18.00. The advert may close once we have met our requirements.
