Job summary

Overview

We are looking for a caring and resilient Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Leeds. You will be working with young people aged up to 17 who have a range of mental health needs and may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances.

Responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to help each young person feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Encouraging positive routines, building trust, and helping them develop life skills and confidence.
  • Supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Helping them access education, activities, and community services.
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional way.
  • Keeping accurate records and following safeguarding procedures.
  • Working closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals.
What we\'re looking for
  • Experience working with young people who have mental health needs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond with empathy.
  • Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • A relevant qualification in care, youth work, or mental health is desirable but not essential if you have strong experience.
