Band 7 Children’s Occupational Therapist

Looking for a new challenge within children’s Occupational Therapy? Want to move away from a heavy clinical caseload? And work in a different way with Education providers? Then our job is for you!

This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop the Occupational Therapy provision within Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service (ECASS). You will sit within a dynamic multi professional health and education team working in an integrated approach delivering services to mainstream schools for children with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). The post is 2.5 days a week, with easy commuter links from central London/Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities
  • To support primary and secondary schools to meet the occupational needs of children with SLCN and to identify those with additional motor or developmental concerns.
  • To provide high quality, evidence based universal and targeted training and intervention packages for schools.
  • To support schools to develop resources and support packages for families.
  • To develop clinical expertise within this specialist area, establishing an evidence based clinical pathway and service provision.
  • To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To supervise, appraise and train students and junior staff as required.
  • To contribute to and lead on aspects of planning, co‑ordinating, delivering and evaluating ECASS and on specified OT service improvements and quality initiatives within the team.
  • To work effectively and flexibly within an interdisciplinary framework in a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency environment, including working with teachers, SENCO’s, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and other professionals.
  • To be flexible to the demands of the service in regard to location of work and area of clinical specialism.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have children’s Occupational therapy experience, be committed to occupationally focused, child centred and evidence‑based care.
