Job description

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Salary:

£23,987.42-£25,097.61 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced Charity Shop Manager to oversee our two charity shops: one located in Worthing and the other in Lancing. Both shops serve their local communities by providing quality goods at reasonable prices and supporting The Salvation Army's mission in the Worthing area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage all operational activities of the shops.
  2. Ensure effective pricing of stock.
  3. Maintain attractive visual presentation of the shops.
  4. Ensure shops are stocked with sellable items to generate continuous sales revenue.
  5. Lead and model excellent customer service to meet sales and mission objectives.
  6. Manage a team of volunteers and employed van drivers/shop assistants, including volunteer recruitment.
  7. Promote understanding of our mission among customers, employees, volunteers, and local agencies.
  8. Manage shop costs within the operational budget.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Successful experience in a similar role.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to improve operational activities.
  • Ability to record, monitor financial data, and produce reports.
  • Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills to meet objectives with minimal supervision.
