GSL Education Kent are currently supporting a welcoming secondary school in Swale with the recruitment of a Teacher of Character Education for a long-term supply role beginning in September 2025.
This is a rare and deeply rewarding opportunity to step into a Teacher of Character Education role that goes beyond traditional subjects — focusing instead on the holistic development of students' emotional intelligence, values, and social responsibility. Often integrated with PSHE and pastoral learning, this curriculum empowers young people to reflect on personal growth, ethics, and their role within society.
Deliver lessons around key themes such as resilience, empathy, respect, honesty, teamwork, and civic responsibility
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages self-reflection and open discussion
Collaborate with pastoral and PSHE teams to design and deliver impactful learning experiences
Encourage respectful, values-based dialogue and emotional growth
Has previous experience delivering PSHE, Character Education, or values-based content
Is confident managing classroom discussions on sensitive and meaningful topics
Brings compassion, structure, and a nurturing approach to every lesson
Holds QTS or equivalent, or has relevant experience in pastoral or PSHE roles
Possesses an Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service or is willing to apply for one
