Qualifications

  • Strong operational background in Catering services inclusive of Health and Safety and Food Safety, ideally with experience in Healthcare.
  • Proven experience of managing a diverse workforce within a service environment.
  • Proven experience of managing to budget requirements within a catering service.
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment.
  • Experienced in training and development of staff.

  • Manage staff in line with HR policies ensuring a motivated and compliant team.
  • Maintain staffing levels according to service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and HACCP protocols.
  • Drive training to ensure staff development and record completion.
  • Liaise with third party contractors to deliver quality services.
  • Deliver all targets in line with financial and operational needs.
  • Establish effective two way communication within the team.
  • Escalate potential risks promptly to the Operations Manager.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to oversee the delivery of our catering production area, leading a dedicated team to achieve excellence in both performance and budget management. In this role, you will support the Head of Catering in driving continuous service development, ensuring our offerings meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work collaboratively with the Trust Estates and Facilities Team to foster strong relationships and uphold our commitment to exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities
  • Manage staff in line with HR policies, including conduct, performance, absence, and payroll processes, ensuring a motivated and compliant team.
  • Maintain staffing levels according to service requirements, liaising with agencies as necessary to ensure staffing continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, HACCP protocols, and equipment checks across the Catering Services production area.
  • Drive curriculum and job related training to ensure staff development and record completion are achieved as required.
  • Liaise with third party contractors to deliver a quality, value for money service that meets contractual obligations and service specifications.
  • Deliver all targets in line with financial and operational business needs, contributing to continuous site performance improvement.
  • Establish effective two way communication within the team through briefings and ensure organisational objectives and values are communicated clearly.
  • Escalate potential risks promptly to the Operations Manager, covering operational, financial, compliance, or reputational concerns.
