Job description

For applications, we are looking for a passionate, dedicated individual to join our award‑winning Young Persons Resettlement Team. You will support young people aged 16 to 18 across two 24/7 supported accommodation sites in Blackpool.

CASUAL YOUNG PERSONS RESETTLEMENT WORKER
“Supporting young people in supported accommodation”

Rate of Pay: £15.08 per hour Monday to Friday. Weekend hours £22.62 per hour (SCP 5b @1.5). Additional sleep‑in payment £41.78 on an‑hoc basis.

Typical day as a Young Persons Resettlement Officer Worker
  • You will manage the day‑to‑day running of the house and support young people to reach their full potential.
  • You will empower young people to maintain accommodation and learn life skills such as cooking and money management.
  • You will encourage further education, training and employment, set clear goals and develop links with statutory and community services.
  • Ensure safety and security of the building, carrying out regular Health and Safety checks, room checks, fire risk assessments and completing all repairs within timescales.
  • You will identify and deal with safeguarding concerns and carry out a thorough risk assessment, liaising with professionals to reduce and manage risk.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with a confident manner, remain calm under pressure and have demonstrable experience working with young people with a range of support needs. Knowledge of young people’s rights and professional boundaries is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Flexibility to travel across both sites and cover regular sleep‑in duties, evenings, weekends and bank holidays as per a rota.
  • Satisfactory enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
