Overview

Post Title: Casual Health and Fitness Advisor

Site Location: BH Live Active sites – Southampton

Salary: up to £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Casual

The role

BH Live is recruiting for Casual Health and Fitness Advisors to join our team across our Southampton BH Live sites. If you are looking for part time hours and flexible working to suit you, this is a great opportunity to fit around your lifestyle.

You will co-ordinate the day-to-day operation of the fitness area. Supervise public participation in activities at the Centre, predominantly but not limited to the Gym. Provide a welcoming and professional service to all customers that encourages continued and frequent use of the Centre and its facilities. Actively provide advice, guidance and encouragement on all matters relating to health and fitness.

You will also run sessions for our junior and family gym members, offering supervised cardio and gym sessions that are designed to enhance fitness levels, balance, posture and coordination.

BH Live is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. Rigorous checks will be made of the successful applicant’s background credentials, including referencing and an enhanced DBS checks.

Due to the nature of our business hours of work will include weekends, bank holidays and evenings.

You will

• Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the gym and ensure the provision of a first-class facility.
• Run supervised gym and cardio sessions for junior and family members.
• Instruct and provide advice to our customers on safe usage.
• Design, implement and promote gym floor classes, workouts, gym challenges, events and further services.
• Provide fitness advice and training programmes for customers.
• Promote and provide a positive experience to all users of the centre.
• Be willing to assist at other sites and departments if needed.

You will need

• A genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service.
• A Level 2 Gym Instructor Qualification is an essential requirement.
• Excellent communication skills.
• To be a positive team player.
• Ideally, you will also have previous experience of working within the leisure industry and working with children and/or vulnerable adults.
• A Level 3 Gym Instructor Qualification is also desirable.
