About the Role
We have a new opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Carpentry Lecturer to deliver both practical and theory based carpentry training. You will be teaching Level 1 and Level 2 full time learners, along with Level 2/3 apprentices, ensuring high quality delivery in workshop and classroom settings. This is a fixed term contract to provide cover for the college's carpentry department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver practical and theoretical carpentry sessions to full time students and apprentices.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet further education standards.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress, providing feedback and support.
  • Maintain workshop safety, ensure equipment readiness, and uphold teaching quality.
  • Work collaboratively with the existing teaching team to support a high standard curriculum.
  • Relevant industrial experience in carpentry (workshop & on site).
  • Prior teaching or training experience (ideally in a further education or vocational environment).
  • Must hold a valid and enhanced DBS check.
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver safe, structured, practical carpentry sessions.
