This role is crucial in delivering a high-quality, flexible, and responsive caretaking service across housing estates and select street properties. The position ensures cleanliness within residential buildings and surrounding areas, while also managing waste, grounds maintenance, and health and safety issues. Caretakers collaborate with various council service teams and contractors and support first responders during emergencies. They are highly valued by residents as the face of the Council, providing advice and support, especially to those living independently but needing additional assistance. The role demands flexibility, informed decision‑making in challenging situations, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve customer outcomes. This position requires a DBS check at the recruitment stage.
