Job description

We are looking for a motivated and caring individual to support the Service Manager and Assistant Manager in the day-to-day running of our Day Centre, providing meaningful activities, care and support to adults with learning disabilities, some with complex needs and physical disabilities.

Blyth Riverside Resource Centre is a day service which offers adults with learning disabilities opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and develop confidence and self-esteem.

Main duties of the job

About the roleYou will:

  • Work alongside care workers to deliver person-centred care and activity programmes.
  • Supervise, guide and support care staff with keyworking, care planning, reviews and record-keeping.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality care by monitoring risk assessments, care plans, staff training and compliance with policies, CQC standards and NICE guidance.
  • Support in developing and improving activity sessions that meet service users needs, aspirations and interests.
  • Encourage teamwork, staff engagement and partnership working with external organisations.
  • Help manage daily operations, including timetabling, transport arrangements, and responding to issues, accidents, or incidents.
  • Promote service user involvement, feedback, and advocacy, while supporting customer care and complaints processes.

About you:

  • A good standard of general education demonstrating numeracy and literacy and a NVQ level 3 in Care equivalent or higher care qualification.
  • Experience in care or support services, ideally with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to person-centred care, teamwork and continuous improvement.
