Care Navigator/admin TheVillage Medical Centre (Woolton)

Overview

TheVillage Medical Centre is looking to recruit a care navigator/administrator for 37 hours per week to join our small established friendly practice team. Customer service and attention to detail skills are essential, as is the ability to learn and solve problems. Ideal candidate will be computer literate and able to multitask within a busy environment. There will be a set rota, but flexibility across shift patterns between 8.00am and 6.30pm will be required. Applications welcomed from those with either general practice or other relevant experience.

Main duties
  • Opening up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols
  • Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
  • Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork
  • Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
  • Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
  • Clearing and re-stock consulting rooms as required
  • Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required and scanning
About us

The practice has a list size of 3700 patients, 3 GP Partners, 1 Practice Nurse and a clerical support team led by the Practice Manager.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a professional, compassionate care navigator/administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is confident in: answering the telephone, dealing with patients face-to-face in reception; making appointments, dealing with patient queries; repeat prescriptions; new patient registrations; address changes; temporary resident registrations; patient referrals; and other ad hoc administrative and clerical tasks. Training can be offered for the right person. Working hours are 37 hours per week between core hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm. This can be discussed at interview.
