Job Description

We are looking for a kind, caring and reliable person to join the support team for a wonderful 12-year-old girl who lives at home with her loving family (mum, dad, three sisters and a brother). She has complex health needs, including hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and a severe learning disability. All of her nutrition and medication is given through a gastrostomy tube, and she needs support with all aspects of daily living. But beyond her medical needs, she is a bright and beautiful soul who adores:

  • Listening to music and exploring musical toys
  • Watching Mr Tumble
  • Having her hair brushed and being sung to
  • Sensory play and spending time with her siblings
  • Making her family smile with her expressive eyes, happy sounds, and wonderful smiles

Although she is non-verbal, she communicates her feelings through smiles, sounds, and eye contact - and when you see her face light up, you\'ll know just how special she is.

We\'re looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient and compassionate
  • Reliable and committed
  • Willing to learn (full training will be provided)
  • Able to work as part of a family-centred team

This is more than just a job - it\'s an opportunity to make a real difference in a young girl\'s life and become part of a supportive, loving environment.

Qualifications

What you\'ll need: You don\'t need complex care experience to apply for this role as this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and become part of a team that makes a real difference. We are looking for care workers that have some care experience to expand upon. You\'ll receive full training and ongoing clinical support to develop in key areas such as tracheostomy care, ventilation, seizure management, and stoma care - and much more.
