A regional healthcare provider located in Crewe is looking for a Cancer BI Developer & Analyst to enhance reporting suites and dashboards for improved cancer pathways. The ideal candidate will support the development of clinical outcomes and be involved in the design and maintenance of information systems. Responsibilities include providing BI services, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders within the organization. A degree and strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL server are essential for this role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to take up the role of Cancer BI Developer & Analyst at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post has been supported by the Cancer Alliance and a key component of the role will be to support development of reporting suites and performance dashboards using a variety of different sources in order to improve our cancer pathways, to support improved clinical outcomes and experience for our patients.
As the Cancer BI Developer & Analyst, you will be part of a team designing and implementing new processes and systems to transform the way we work and enable our clinical, corporate and support staff to focus their time on what matters most. You will optimise the use of existing systems and data as well as implement new solutions.
The postholder will provide a direct support to the Cancer Services team along with working closely with the Information Services team.

To ensure that regular, timely and accurate information is provided to Trust management and clinicians by the application of appropriate analytical and presentation techniques to data extracted from any of the Trusts information systems, covering patient based systems in conjunction with the trusts cancer specific systems.
This will involve determining the requirements of the managers, information analysts and others concerned, and then developing appropriate software and tools for the extraction and analysis of data and the presentation of information.
To scope design, develop and maintain information reporting systems, databases, integrated and automated dashboards and query tools required to support the Trust and its Divisions on a routine basis around cancer data. Ensuring that new reporting requirements meet business needs and are integrated and automated for efficiency and time saving for stakeholders and enable self-service.
Provide developed expert specialist support and advice on data manipulation, transformation and presentation to relevant staff.
To ensure that the IM&T housekeeping and data quality tasks associated with such systems and data are adequately tested and implemented flagging any areas of concern appropriately.
Liaise with teams within Digital Technology and Information Services (DTIS) and across the wider Trust to ensure that the most up to date datasets and feeds are available via the data warehouse, tables and databases to ensure that reporting and submissions are based on the most accurate data definitions available.
Contribute to key areas of Business Intelligence development, implementation and maintenance of the Business intelligence databases including, data analysis and modelling, Meta data definitions, extraction, transformation and information access.
To research and maintain a good understanding of available new technologies/techniques and be able to apply as appropriate as well as keeping the team informed of these new technologies.
To ensure that all software developed and information outputs produced are documented in accordance with departmental standards, are adequately secured, and are subject to stringent quality assurance tests before output is issued.
To maximise the use of Information Technology Systems and Business Intelligence tools in the discharge of the duties of the post.
Fully absorb, interpret and understand current data definitions and definitional issues in relation to areas of specialism & personal knowledge in this area as and when ISNs or new Department of Health definitions are drafted and/or formally issued.
The duties of the post will require intensive use of bespoke information reporting systems and various discrete, patient-based networked information systems.
Design, develop and implement data validation and quality assurance systems and methodologies, ensuring the integrity of data systems and all reporting produced by the service.
Regularly assist clinical and non-clinical staff in their conduct of research or development work and support the Trusts Clinical Audit and Effectiveness programme.
To be responsible and accountable for external audit regarding data quality and submission accuracy.
