CAD Engineer

Location: High Wycombe (Office-based, hybrid after probation)

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000

Hours: 35 per week (Monday to Friday)

A fantastic opportunity for a CAD Engineer to join a respected and fast-growing smart lighting technology company. Known for delivering cutting-edge lighting control systems, the business supports major commercial and public sector clients across the UK from concept through to commissioning.

With all project delivery handled in-house, the company offers a stable, collaborative environment where innovation and technical precision are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare 2D AutoCAD layouts based on client and contractor drawings
  2. Export designs into proprietary control software to support pre-commissioning
  3. Create and populate system icons and network trees
  4. Produce and revise technical drawings and schematics to industry standards
  5. Liaise with engineers, project teams, and estimators to ensure smooth handovers
  6. Maintain detailed design documentation and support design improvements
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous CAD experience, ideally in lighting, electronics, or manufacturing
  • Strong AutoCAD skills; experience with 3D tools (e.g., SolidWorks or Rhino) is a plus
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Degree or certification in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Awareness of smart lighting systems or IoT technologies is desirable
