Job summary

A leading construction firm in Northern Ireland is seeking a Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in the construction sector and will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials. Proficiency in MS Office is required. This role involves managing supplier relationships and ensuring quality standards are met.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience of working within the construction sector.
  • Proficient with MS Office programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure construction materials.
  • Identify and select reliable suppliers / contractors for live projects.
  • Ensure all materials meet required technical specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly checks to ensure all paperwork is up to date.
  • Manage the delivery of all material & plant to site.
  • Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Build, manage & maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors.
  • Work to ensure all supplier invoices are cleared for payment in a timely manner.
  • Other adhoc duties.
