Responsibilities
  • Procuring components for UK manufacturing operations and spare parts as required
  • Expediting purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Managing relationships with suppliers/vendors and negotiating contracts
  • Working closely with the other procurement & supply chain teams within the business to meet company objectives - UK and internationally
  • Handling any supply chain issues promptly and professionally
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
Qualifications and Candidate Experience
  • Technical Buyer with experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to read technical engineering drawings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A confident negotiator
  • Good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to show initiative and take ownership of a situation
  • Project management experience would be advantageous but not essential
