Business Unit Administrator
Location: London, Pancras Square

Your work will help translate bold commercial strategy into real-world momentum for medicines that change the lives of people living with cancer.

Accountabilities
  • Administrative support and Prioritization: Own comprehensive diary management for Franchise heads/Business heads, prioritize competing demands, provide forward visibility of commitments and ensure timely follow-up of actions arising from meetings to maximize leadership impact.
  • Travel and Expenses Governance: Research options, book and rebook complex travel and accommodation for Franchise heads/Business heads; produce detailed itineraries; secure required approvals; prepare expense submissions aligned to policy and proactively flag any non-compliance to protect budgets and standards.
  • Meeting and Event Orchestration: Plan, schedule and deliver internal and external meetings end to end room bookings, hospitality and materials for the wider Franchise/Business Unit teams.
  • Leadership Team Enablement: Coordinate Leadership Team meetings for the Franchise/Business unit director—set dates, partner with the chair on agendas, liaise with speakers, attend sessions and track actions—so priorities are clear and execution stays on track.
  • Systems Expertise and First-Line Support for the wider Franchise/Business Unit team’s: Serve as the go-to expert for core systems such as CyberGrants (sponsorship payments), Concur and Veeva approvals, providing first-line support to local users and escalating via approved channels to maintain continuity.
  • Onboarding and Access: Act as single point of contact for new starters, securing systems access and providing training to accelerate their productivity from day one.
  • Virtual Collaboration Excellence: Set up and support virtual meetings with confidence; stay current on new collaboration technologies and process updates to enhance hybrid working.
  • Information Management: Maintain accurate distribution lists and up-to-date organizational charts.
  • Project Delivery and Change: Support, lead and deliver projects as required by the Franchise/Business Head and wider teams; project manage agreed interventions, track progress versus plan and communicate status to stakeholders; identify and implement new administration systems and processes that raise efficiency.
  • Community Contribution: Be an active member of the OBU admin group, sharing best practice; support or lead cross-team or enterprise events and projects to scale impact beyond your immediate team.

  • Proven track record of delivering projects.
  • Experience of exercising judgement to make decisions when appropriate.

  • Experience of Governance processes and ways of working
  • Track record of providing effective administrative support at Director level.
  • Knowledge of UK Marketing Company Head Office structure and a network of contacts within AstraZeneca.
  • Business awareness and an appreciation of priorities
