Business Security Consultant

Position Description

At CGI, you'll play a vital role in protecting critical services on a highly secure government programme, helping ensure operational security is embedded into every aspect of delivery. Working as part of our Operational Security Team, you'll support a sensitive account where strong governance, clear assurance and trusted relationships are essential. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, technical teams and senior leaders, taking ownership of day-to-day security activities while contributing to a culture that values accountability, continuous improvement and collaboration. At CGI, you'll be supported to grow your expertise while making a meaningful difference in a high-impact, high-trust environment.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK 'Best Employer' by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee.

We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you'll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We'll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

In this role, you will be a key member of the Operational Security Team, supporting the secure delivery of services to a sensitive client. You will act as the day-to-day point of contact for operational security, working closely with CGI teams and client stakeholders to ensure security obligations are met, risks are managed, and issues are addressed promptly. You will take ownership of incident handling, security governance activities and ongoing assurance, while being supported by senior security leadership.

You will also help embed strong security awareness across the programme, ensuring people, processes and technology operate in line with contractual and regulatory expectations.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You will have a background in cyber or operational security, ideally within a defence or similarly high-security environment, with the confidence to operate as a trusted representative in a client-facing role.
