Business Sales & Development Engineer – West Yorkshire

Our Client: A leading international engineering group seeking a Business Sales & Development Engineer to join its expanding material handling division. The company has a long-standing reputation for quality and innovation, supplying high-performance components across both agricultural and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Combine technical consultative sales with business development responsibilities, working closely with engineering and sales teams to drive growth across domestic and export markets.
  • Support existing customers while identifying new opportunities, conduct site surveys, resolve technical issues, and provide training and support.
  • Prepare design proposals using in-house engineering tools, deliver quotations, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Develop strong relationships with OEMs, end users, and distributors; represent the business at industry events and support subsidiaries internationally.
  • Focus on both commercial growth and technical problem-solving, with the ability to meet agreed sales targets across multiple sectors.
Requirements
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, with a background in bulk material handling and hands-on technical sales.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the flexibility to travel across the UK and overseas.
