The Role

As a Learn to Swim Business Manager, you’ll lead your venue team to deliver an exceptional swimming experience for every child and family. You’ll be responsible for daily operations, ensuring lessons run safely, smoothly, and to the highest standards of quality and service.


You’ll set the tone for excellence by motivating your team, upholding our standards, and ensuring customers feel valued and supported every step of the way.


What You’ll Do


  • Lead and support your venue team to deliver consistent, high-quality lessons and service.

  • Maintain exceptional operational standards across safety, cleanliness, and presentation.

  • Carry out regular quality checks and feedback sessions with instructors and team members.

  • Manage customer communications, including calls and follow-ups to leads / enquiries.

  • Monitor venue performance, attendance, and customer feedback, taking action where improvements are needed.

  • Ensure full compliance with all safeguarding, health & safety, equality, and data protection policies.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across swim@ and swim! centres across your region to share good practice and deliver a great experience for every family.

  • Attract new customers through hyperlocal community engagement as well as retaining existing customers through high standards, quality lessons and customer service.


About You

You’ll be an organised, approachable leader who thrives on people development and takes pride in high standards. You enjoy being hands-on, solving problems, and making sure every detail contributes to a great customer experience.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Proven experience managing people or teams in a customer-focused or leisure environment.

  • Sales or business development experience, ideally in a customer-service environment.

  • Excellent communicator, confident with customer calls and in-person interactions.

  • Strong organisation and planning skills with great attention to detail.

  • Passion for maintaining high operational standards and team performance.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, equality, and data protection best practice.

  • Ability to travel regionally and stay overnight when required.

  • Full UK driving license.


Desirable


  • Qualifications in business management, leadership, or mentoring.

  • Knowledge or experience within the learn-to-swim or wider leisure industry.

  • Experience of quality assurance or compliance frameworks.

  • Pool Plant Operator qualification desirable (training provided if not yet held).

  • Swim teaching or coaching background with qualifications (training provided if not yet held)
