Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding

Location: Manchester, UK

Salary: Up to £40,000 (DOE) + Commission + Car Allowance

My client is looking for a results driven, Business Development Manager to help grow their business in the Freight Forwarding sector. The right candidate will be a sales-person who has worked previously for a UK based Freight Forwarder looking to make their next step in their career. Knowledge and experience with Air and/or Ocean Freight is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain effective business relationships with new and existing clients, offering excellent customer service.
  • To generate and follow up sales leads, visiting potential and existing customers to obtain new business at reasonable profit.
  • Promote the business to new and existing clients to help grow the Freight Forwarding sector.
  • Provide accurate information to internal operations staff in order that all relevant administration can be completed efficiently.
  • Be up-to-date on current developments in the market and information on competitors.
