Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a UK-based manufacturer and fabricator with a turnover of £10M. Supplying Tier 1 contractors, architects, and subcontractors across the education, healthcare, and commercial markets, this business has established itself as a trusted name in the construction products industry.

As Business Development Manager for the Western UK, you will be responsible for developing a territory that stretches from Bristol and South Wales, through Birmingham and the North West, and up into Scotland. While there is a steady flow of inbound enquiries, success in this role will come from actively building the region up and forging new relationships across the construction supply chain.

This is a consultative sales role, handling projects ranging from £40K to £1M, requiring both commercial drive and technical engagement with decision-makers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and convert inbound enquiries into profitable business
  • Proactively identify and secure new opportunities with contractors, architects, and subcontractors
  • Develop strong consultative relationships to influence specifications and secure long-term accounts
  • Deliver growth across the education, healthcare, and commercial sectors
Candidate Profile
  • Experience within the construction or building products industry
  • Preferred backgrounds: doors, ironmongery, joinery, partitions, ceilings
  • Strong consultative sales skills with experience of managing complex projects
  • Proven ability to balance account management with new business development
Package
  • Base Salary: £40K-£50K (higher for the right candidate)
  • Bonus: 20% performance-based
  • Car: Company car provided
  • Benefits: Pension
  • Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm, with early finish at 3:30pm on Fridays
