Due to our continued growth, we're hiring for a Business Development Director to lead the growth in our price comparison business. You'll be have:

  1. Proven results building new strategic relationships and landing deals

  2. Deep knowledge of the UK financial services sector and the price comparison sector

You will be responsible for:

  2. Building strategic relationships

  3. Shaping and executing go-to-market strategy

  4. Delivering commercial success across our white-label propositions and beyond

By bringing together product data, technology, and consumer insight we help everyone makes smarter, more informed financial choices now, and in the future. A key part of our successful business is to provide the data, which powers many of the UK's price comparison sites. We also supply data to publishers, fintech and government.

We have ambitious growth plans and are seeking an equally focused and ambitious sales director to help us meet our objectives. You'll be patient, strategic and adept at building trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders.

What you'll do
  • Develop and execute the overarching commercial strategy for the price comparison market

  • Deliver significant growth, build and nurture strategic relationships with key aggregator clients and partners

  • Identify and secure new strategic commercial opportunities for Defaqto

  • Refine and lead the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for our white-label panel propositions

  • Collaborate across Defaqto and acquired businesses to align and scale commercial efforts

  • Represent Defaqto externally as a thought leader and trusted partner in the market

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for a strategic, commercially minded leader with a proven track record in financial services. Essential requirements are:

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience

  • Deep knowledge of the UK retail financial services landscape

  • Deep knowledge of the aggregator sector

  • Extensive experience in strategic enterprise account growth

  • Significant experience leading sales teams and/or managing commercial functions

  • A strong commercial, strategic, and entrepreneurial mindset with a proven track record in finding and developing long-term relationships based upon trust

  • Proven use of strategic selling methodologies (e.g. MEDDIC or similar)

Work location

This is a remote role but with requirements to travel to clients and prospects, network at events etc. You'll also be required onsite from time to time to join the wider sales team in updates, meeting and workshops.
