Business Analyst with Banking experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, and technology teams to elicit, document, and validate requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support end-to-end project delivery across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups with stakeholders to define business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop process flows, use cases, wireframes, and data models to support requirement clarity.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and UAT teams to ensure requirements are implemented correctly and meet business objectives.
  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives (e.g., PSD2, MiFID II, Basel III, AML/KYC, GDPR).
  • Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and risk identification for new projects or changes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in retail banking, corporate banking, payments, or wealth management, depending on project needs.
  • Assist in creating training materials, user guides, and supporting change management activities.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, products, and services (e.g., loans, mortgages, payments, trade finance, AML/KYC).
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Skilled in requirements gathering, documentation, and business process mapping.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, and Power BI (or similar).
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, BCS Business Analysis, AgilePM, CSM, or CSPO are an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2+ years in the banking sector.
