Overview

Homelift Building Surveyor – Technical / Structural Installations

Exeter | Full-Time | Salary up to £42,496 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits | Company Vehicle Provided

We’re seeking a technically minded Building Surveyor / Technical Surveyor to join our growing team as a Homelift Building Surveyor. With strong experience in structural works / construction environments, and CDM compliance. You’ll conduct thorough, invasive feasibility surveys to assess safety, compliance, and structural requirements, producing precise survey documentation that enables seamless, right-first-time installations. This role is ideal for experienced surveyors or skilled structural trades professionals seeking a challenging, varied, and impactful surveyor role.

What You’ll Do
  • Carry out invasive technical building surveys for our award winning through-floor domestic lift installations to assess installation feasibility.
  • Identify structural integrity, including lifting floors and tracing M&E services, feasibility risks, deterioration and compliance issues. Escalating to the Structural Engineer when required.
  • Prepare detailed sketches, floor plans, aperture measurements and structural notes.
  • Produce accurate and detailed technical survey reports our trades teams can confidently follow. Supporting safe, efficient installation and build works.
  • Complete and maintain RAMS, CDM documentation, Building Regulations, ISO processes and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Develop Bill of Materials (BOM), work methodologies, and order specialist materials where required.
  • Record survey evidence for planning, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with Building Control, Structural Engineers, Technical and Build Teams to ensure right-first-time delivery.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • Proven surveying experience within construction / building / structural environments (Asbestos/Quantative/New Build/Refurbishment)
  • Carpentry background highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations & Building Control
  • Competent IT skills
  • Ability to problem-solve complex technical challenges
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence

This role will be based from Exeter and will cover surveys across South West England, regular travel is required, including overnight stays. A fully expensed company vehicle is provided, as is accommodation and subsistence in line with company policy.
