- General - Grade 10: up to £57,870 + £7,500 market supplement + Golden Hello up to £6,000
- Principal - Grade 11: up to £64,673 + £7,500 market supplement + Golden Hello up to £6,000

The role
- Deliver plan checks and site inspections across the borough to secure compliance with Building Regulations.
- Provide pragmatic advice to architects, contractors and homeowners; issue and record statutory notices and decisions.
- Manage a varied inspection diary covering domestic works, new builds, conversions and small commercial (scope aligned to your competency).
- Maintain robust records and contribute to BSR-compliant processes and risk-based interventions.
- Principal: act as technical lead on complex schemes, mentor inspectors and support service improvements.
About you
- Registered Building Inspector (BSR) status (or eligible/actively working towards), aligned to Domestic / General / Principal level.
- Sound knowledge of Building Regulations & Approved Documents and on-site construction practice.
- Professional membership (e.g. CABE / RICS / CIOB) and relevant qualification (HNC/BSc or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and confidence managing an inspection programme across Berkshire.
- Principal: demonstrable leadership and stakeholder management experience.
