Job summary

A leading companionship service provider in Manchester is seeking a reliable support worker to assist a young man with an acquired brain injury. You'll help him in achieving independence and support him in his daily life, including driving him to events. While no specific experience is required, having a background in support work is advantageous. Competitive pay is offered along with flexible shifts.

We are seeking a reliable and energetic person to help support a young man in his thirties, with an acquired brain injury, to be independent in his own home as well as access therapies and social events.

Job Description

The client:

  • A highly independent young man who is always thriving tobecomemore independent and self-sufficient.
  • A positive personality who can enjoy both a serious conversation as well as a good laugh.
  • Very ambitious and would like support with working towards his life goals.
  • Enjoys all things music and plays the guitar and keyboard. A background in sound engineering.
  • Able to walk with the support of a tripod, uses a wheelchair for longer distances.

The applicant:

  • You can cover amixtureof shifts Monday to Sunday
  • Sunday:9am-5pm
  • Ableand willing to work on alternate weekends
  • Clean Driving Licenceisessential due to nature of support.
  • Confidentdriver who is willing to learn how to drive the clients' automatic vehicle.
  • Excellent observation, communication, & reporting skills.
  • Confident working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • A good team player
  • Strong motivator able to support a highly independent adult
