Job description
About Us

At Dines, our mission is simple yet powerful: to serve those who serve. We empower hospitality businesses with a cutting-edge POS and payments platform, helping renowned festivals, events, theatres, and restaurants across the UK and Ireland operate seamlessly.

We’re more than just a technology provider - we’re a trusted partner built on three pillars: Relationships, Service, and Delivery. Our clients love us because we genuinely have their backs, and we take pride in being there when they need us most.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for passionate individuals who share our vision and want to be part of something exciting. If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment where your work directly impacts businesses, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team, reporting to the CFO. This role focuses on day-to-day financial operations, providing meaningful exposure to internal processes, the wider team, and client-facing event accounting support.

It’s a great fit for someone organised, detail-driven, reliable, and comfortable owning tasks from start to finish; especially if you enjoy tidy ledgers, clean reconciliations, and helping clients get answers quickly.

What You'll Do
Financial Operations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers across multiple entities
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and trader settlements
  • Monitor day-to-day expenses and flag anomalies, errors, or cost-saving opportunities to the Finance team
Reconciliations & Controls
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure completeness of cash and payment records
  • Complete tidy supporting schedules and keep documentation audit-ready
  • Support the development of finance processes and internal controls
Event Accounting & Client Support
  • Support event accounting by reconciling trader reports, card takings, and event-level sales data
  • Provide clients with accurate information on their accounts and resolve queries promptly
Compliance & Month-End
  • Assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings
  • Collaborate with the Management Accountant on monthly close processes
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
Essential Experience And Skills
  • AAT qualified or similar
  • 2+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping, accounts assistant, or finance support role
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Experience with cloud accounting systems - Xero preferred
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable working with data
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills - able to deal confidently with colleagues and clients
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and effective in a remote-first environment
Personal qualities
  • Detail-driven and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Deadline-focused, able to balance priorities effectively
  • Collaborative and solutions-focused – someone who asks “how do we fix this?” rather than “who’s to blame?”
  • Curious, proactive, and excited to learn across the business
Benefits
  • Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere in the UK and up to 30 days abroad annually.
  • Generous Leave: 30 days plus eight public holidays (five of which are flexible).
  • Personal Budgets: Invest in your well-being, learning, and workspace.
  • Impactful Work: Help keep our finance engine running and support clients at some of the UK’s best events.
  • Competitive Salary: £28,000 to £38,000 per year, depending on experience - plus benefits and professional development support.
Next Steps

After reviewing applications (please include a cover letter), we will invite selected candidates to our interview process, designed to be efficient and engaging.
