Overview

A growing organisation is seeking a diligent and confident Bookkeeper to join their close-knit team. Working 30 hours per week across four or five days, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations as the business continues to grow. If you thrive on working autonomously, love solving problems, and enjoy collaborating with a friendly, high-performing team, this could be the perfect fit.

This hybrid role is based in Royal Wootton Bassett, is working 1 day from home and the rest in the office for most of the week. The position offers up to £20 an hour depending on experience, 28 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, and the chance to contribute directly to a values-driven team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping using Xero accounting software.
  • Process and pay supplier invoices, and manage online payments and reconciliations.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and prepare VAT returns.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including deferred income, P&L, and cash flow reports.
  • Respond to finance-related enquiries and support the team with refunds and cancellations.
  • Provide financial insights and support to leadership, working independently and proactively.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping roles, ideally gained in small and large businesses.
  • Level 3 AAT qualification (or equivalent) and strong Xero expertise.
  • Experience in preparing management accounts and handling VAT returns.
  • Confident working independently, making sound financial judgements without constant oversight.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable in a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced team environment.
  • Familiarity with managing online payment systems and reconciling transactions efficiently.
