The Board member will become part of the newly formed specialised Finance sub-committee, enhancing our diversely skilled team.

The Hub Board is well established and has had a specialised Inclusion sub-committee for many years. We are now creating a second specialised Finance sub-committee to strengthen our financial management and decision-making.

As per the Finance sub-committee terms of reference, all members must also be Board members. We value diversity, promote equality, and challenge discrimination.

Specialist skills required for finance committee members

We welcome applications from individuals with:

  • Experience in senior finance roles.
  • A professionally recognised finance qualification.
  • The ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

We encourage applications from anyone who meets the above criteria and can commit to contributing positively to the Hub’s Board and Finance sub-committee, aligning with our collective purpose outlined in the recruitment pack.

We are actively seeking to increase the diversity and representation of our Board and sub-committees. We particularly encourage applicants with protected characteristics or from global majority backgrounds.

Finance committee meetings are additional to Board meetings, held four times a year on a Wednesday evening, approximately 1.5 hours each.

For over 40 years, Hertfordshire Music Service has delivered musical opportunities to young people across the county, with many involved in weekly activities.

We are a membership organisation, subject association, and charity.
