Overview

Behaviour Support Worker - Gateshead

The Education Network is currently working in partnership with a school in Gateshead in search of a Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. The role is to begin as soon as possible with the possibility of being ongoing for the academic year.

Responsibilities
  • Provide behaviour support and pastoral assistance to secondary school age students (11-18) to help them achieve their learning goals within the school setting.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive learning environment and support students to engage with lessons and school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement behaviour management strategies and interventions.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Confidence and some experience in supporting children to achieve learning goals within a school setting, preferably with secondary school age group (11-18).
  • A proven track record of working effectively with secondary school age children/young people in a pastoral or behaviour support role.
  • Knowledge of the key issues affecting behaviour, attendance and welfare, combined with excellent interpersonal skills to challenge constructively and motivate students.
Remuneration & Contract

The advertisement states a rate of pay of 90 - 110 per day; this depends on qualifications and experience. The role is offered as ongoing for the academic year.
