Job Title: Behaviour Support Classroom Assistant Primary School
Location: Liverpool
Salary: GBP105-GBP115 per day

DBS: Enhanced DBS required (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Classroom Assistant to work in primary schools across Liverpool, supporting pupils who require additional help managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

This is a key role for someone who is calm, resilient, and committed to helping pupils succeed in a structured and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups who display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
  • Assist teachers with behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent routines and expectations
  • Help pupils engage in learning and build confidence in and out of the classroom
  • Work closely with the SENCO and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt support
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with behavioural needs or SEMH, ideally in a school setting
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Two recent professional references
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, firm, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and build positive relationships
