Job Description:

As a Bar Steward at Sodexo site Worthy Down Barracks, SO21 2RG, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for our customers, particularly the armed forces personnel we serve. This role is all about making genuine connections and delivering excellent service to those who rely on us to enhance their daily experience. If you're a friendly, approachable individual with great communication skills, you'll thrive in this customer-facing role!

What You'll Do:

• Deliver professional bar service, including serving wines, spirits, beers, and associated products accurately and efficiently.

• Provide retail services support across the site including customer service, cash handling, and merchandising.

• Maintain excellent relationships with customers and colleagues, ensuring a welcoming and professional service.

• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing laws and company quality procedures, including security and cash-handling processes.

• Complete end-of-shift cash consolidation sheets and report discrepancies promptly.

• Support bar stock checks and assist with deliveries, ensuring correct procedures are followed.

• Carry out cellar duties, including changing barrels, pipe cleaning, and stocking up as directed.

• Follow cleaning schedules and COSHH guidelines to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic environment.

• Attend team briefs, meetings, and performance reviews, contributing ideas for service improvement.

• Maintain personal hygiene, wear the correct uniform and PPE, and keep work areas clean and tidy at all times.

• Report near misses, accidents, defective equipment, or hazards immediately.

• Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by management.

What You Bring:

Essential:

• Must be 18 or older due to licensing regulations.

• Good numerical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge of health & safety and food safety practices.

• Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a military environment.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the service or hospitality industry.
