TEWV is developing a forward thinking nursing vision and robust defined career pathways. As an RMN you may be responsible for the day to day running of the ward.

This post is only open to those candidates who already have their NMC registration in place and have successfully completed the preceptorship programme.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under any visa, as it is a Bank/zero hours contract and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

As a Staff Nurse on our inpatient units, you will be encouraged to become involved in the large multi-disciplinary team approach striving towards excellent patient care. You will be involved in formulation to discharge planning for patients on the ward as part of our dynamic team.

Each inpatient ward is fully equipped with activity and therapeutic spaces to enable patients to recover in a timely way so that they can be safely discharged back into their community with identified support packages.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only) - RGN (If appropriate - Advert must indicate if the role is open to RGN nurses to apply)
  • To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience
  • Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
  • Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working in partnership with other agencies
Knowledge
  • Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
  • Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
  • Confident working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
