Overview

The pharmacy technician (OUTPATIENT) provides pharmaceutical services in the outpatient pharmacy department, ensuring efficient and high-quality customer experience. The post holder will be part of Royal Free London Pharmacy, a wholly owned subsidiary of the RFL Group, and will be based mainly at the Royal Free Hospital. We are looking for applicants for both band 4 and band 5 Pharmacy Technician roles.

Qualifications and requirements

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent; Registered with the GPhC
• Essential: Demonstrable ability to dispense accurately; counsel and give advice to patients/carers on medication; stock control principles; NHS hospital experience; computer literate
• Desirable: Previous experience in outpatient pharmacy; experience with JAC Pharmacy system

Skills and personal qualities

• Essential: Ability to provide a sensitive and professional service to patients, patient families and healthcare professionals
• Essential: Good communication and interpersonal skills including written English
• Essential: Good attention to detail; ability to work in a busy environment; able to meet deadlines
