Job summary

A healthcare provider in London seeks a Bank/Adhoc Paediatric Anaesthetist to support the development of its paediatric services. Responsibilities include providing anaesthesia for day-case surgeries and assisting in pre-and post-operative care. The ideal candidate should have paediatric experience, be an EPALS provider, and have stage 2 or 3 competencies. Overview

The hospital is developing its paediatric services further to provide a day case surgical pathway from April 2025. We will initially treat minor and moderate complexity surgery for clinically well children above the age of 3.

Responsibilities

Support the day case surgical pathway and ensure delivery of safe, high‑quality care.

  • Provide anaesthesia for day‑case paediatric surgery.
  • Assist in pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative care.
  • Maintain documentation and comply with safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
Person Specification
  • Post‑FRCA stage 2 or 3 trainees, or equivalents with completed stage 2 paediatric competencies.
  • Non‑HEE trainees who have completed FRCA and competencies.
  • Non‑training grade doctors with demonstrable paediatric experience.
  • EPALS provider.
  • Level 3 paediatric safeguarding (supported by hospital).
  • Able to obtain enhanced DBS (hospital will arrange).
  • Commitment to support development of a successful, safe and effective paediatric day‑case surgical pathway.
