Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree or equivalent and Licence to Practice – Royal College of Speech/Language Therapists.
  • Essential: Working with children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties.
  • Essential: Collaborative work with parents and teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and support children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions within schools.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, SENCOs, and other professionals.

Skills

Normal Child Development including Speech and Language
Knowledge of appropriate range of assessments and interventions
Understanding of the roles of other professionals
Knowledge of professional standards of record keeping

Education

Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
Current registered membership of HPC and RCSLT
