West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is delivering one of the most ambitious hospital redevelopment programmes in the NHS and we have a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and motivated Redevelopment Programme Co-ordinator (Band 6) to join our Redevelopment Team. Based at Watford General Hospital (with travel to other sites), you will play a key role in coordinating programme activities, managing procurement and financial processes, supporting project planning and reporting, and line managing the Team Administrator.

Job responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of purchase order, invoicing and payment process for redevelopment projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions, and timely approvals.
  • Programme coordination, including planning, risk and issue tracking, milestone management, and reporting.
  • Support governance processes by preparing reports, maintaining document control, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Line-management of the Redevelopment Team Administrator, overseeing meeting administration, agendas, and minutes.
  • Work closely with finance, procurement, capital, estates, clinical and operational colleagues, as well as external partners, to support programme delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of PMO systems and processes to support effective programme management.
Person Specification
Education
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
  • Prince2/ other Project Management qualification or equivalent.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of and relevant experience of working within the UK healthcare system.
  • Knowledge of procurement to payment processes within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and management.
  • Understanding of information governance and confidentiality.
  • Understanding of policy and Standing Financial Orders (SFIs).
  • Knowledge of current NHS policies.
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff.
  • Database systems and management.
Experience
  • Experience of managing financial procurement to payment processes for a project team
  • Experience working with Microsoft tools.
  • Experience of managing own workload and dealing with conflicting priorities.
  • Proven Stakeholder Management experience and evidence of working closely to support senior level meetings, including minute taking and meeting management.
  • Demonstrable project management experience within the NHS or other healthcare setting.
  • Experience of using Integra or another financial management tool.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Project software.
  • Experience of working with external bodies.
  • Line management and development of more junior colleagues.
