Job Overview

Your role:

  • Work within an Occupational Therapy team consisting of three support workers, one junior Band 5, and three other Band 6 Occupational Therapists, led by two experienced Band 7 Team Leads.
  • Participate as a valued member of the wider Multi‑Disciplinary Team, assessing and treating patients, preventing de‑conditioning, facilitating timely and effective patient discharge, and making ongoing referrals to other agencies.
  • Supervise Band 5 staff and, when appropriate, supervise and educate Occupational Therapy students on placement.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the development, administration, and provision of a specialist Occupational Therapy service with a varied caseload of patients.
  • Manage complex assessment of predominantly physical conditions, addressing physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, and social aspects of care.
  • Directly manage your own caseload of patients with diverse presentation and complex physical and psychological conditions, referred for Occupational Therapy assessment, rehabilitation, treatment planning, and discharge management.
  • Support the specialist team in providing, developing, and planning an Occupational Therapy service for this client group, acting as a source of expertise.
