Opening Paragraph:
An experienced Diabetes Dietitian is urgently needed for a Band 6 locum position in London, working part-time, Wednesday to Friday. This role requires covering Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) clinics, providing expert dietary advice and support for patients with diabetes. The position is available to start immediately and will continue on an ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a positive impact on patient care.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert nutritional advice to patients with diabetes, including those with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. You will work as part of an MDT, collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans. This includes conducting individual patient assessments, providing group education sessions, reviewing and adjusting dietary plans, and supporting patients in managing their condition through lifestyle changes. You will also be expected to provide ongoing follow-up and education, monitor patient progress, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service. Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • HCPC registration as a Dietitian
  • Significant experience in diabetes management, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Experience working in an MDT setting
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based dietary interventions for diabetes
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in delivering patient education, both one-to-one and in group settings
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure
  • Previous locum or community diabetes dietitian experience (desirable)
