The Children's Emergency Department provides high quality evidence-based nursing care and support to children and young people aged 0-15 years within a dedicated, child friendly environment 24 hours a day.
The Department has its own 2 bedded dedicated paediatric resuscitation area within the unit and is co-located to Adult Emergency Department encouraging collaborative and joint working within the unit and as part of the London Major Trauma Network.
We are a friendly dedicated team staffed by highly motivated and skilled Paediatric Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Paediatric consultants. With our own Paediatric Development Nurse, we are fully supportive in developing and upskilling our nursing team offering a variety of exciting opportunities such as APLS,
We are currently looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, experienced paediatric nurse with experience in the Emergency Department or acute environment. The post holder will have experience with shift management, staff development and provide high standards of care to critically unwell or injured children.
The successful candidate will stay up to date with current developments in healthcare, acting as a role model and expert clinical practitioner. They will deliver high quality evidence- based, and holistic care to children and their families, working collaboratively within a supportive multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
With their previous experience they will be expected to take on leadership and liaison roles, support the senior leadership team with responsibilities such as managing clinical area, overseeing staffing levels, participating in recruitment and training, and supporting other team members.

In addition to supporting the daily operations of the department, successful candidates will be responsible for clinically assessing and prioritise care, while maintaining effective working relationships with all members of the Childrens Services team.
The role requires a friendly, flexible approach to provide nursing cover across the paediatric services as needed, ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient and high-quality service for all service users.
