Overview

This post is for a District Nurse Deputy Team Manager with the Swanshurst Team based at Moseley Hall Hospital. The role requires nursing interventions delivered to clients in their own homes. The post holder will work multi-professionally, support other team members, and contribute to the future development of the service. As a deputy team manager you will support the team manager in operational aspects of managing a community nursing team while also being a senior specialist District Nurse providing care to our most complex and vulnerable patients.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing interventions to patients in their own homes.
  • Support the team manager with operational aspects of managing a community nursing team.
  • Provide senior specialist District Nurse care to complex and vulnerable patients.
  • Lead and supervise junior colleagues; manage workload and contribute to service development.
  • Work flexibly within the Trust’s policies regarding shifts.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Essential: District Nurse Specialist Practitioner Qualification.
  • Be able to demonstrate good leadership, change management in clinical practice, and independent clinical and leadership judgement.
  • Ability to supervise and support junior colleagues regularly.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel across Birmingham City boundaries to provide care as part of integrated community services.
