Job description

Salary: Band 5, £30,754 - £37,377 per annum (FTE £34,427 - £41,842 per annum) inclusive of London Weighting Allowance

Location: Beaconsfield, with travel if required.

Working Pattern: 5 days per week, Term Time plus 2 weeks

Contract: Fixed Term until end of Academic Year

About the College

Orchard Hill College is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, May 2025) offering life‑changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with a range of special education needs and/or disabilities. We have nine vibrant community‑based College Centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of over 400 students. We also run an Academy Trust for over 1,500 pupils and students with SEN across London, Surrey, Sussex and Berkshire.

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Band 5 Nurse to join our dynamic and committed staff team. You will work within the Nursing Team in conjunction with lecturing staff, promoting good health and wellbeing in all students by contributing to the development and implementation of the Colleges/Academies and Associates health care practice. Your role will involve providing a high‑quality service to our students to ensure that all individuals “can learn and achieve.”

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including profound learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties, and medical needs.
  • Support students’ health and wellbeing within the college community, working collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health‑care practice within the college and associated schools.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registered Nurse with relevant qualifications and experience in a similar setting.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and an interest in learning disabilities, epilepsy, neurological disorders, intellectual disability, and autism.
