Band 5 Biomedical Scientist – Pathology / Histopathology

Band 5 Biomedical Scientist in Pathology / Histology is sought for a full-time ongoing locum position in Guildford, Surrey. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of £21 per hour.

This is an excellent opportunity for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with specialist knowledge in Pathology services. You will be working both independently and as part of a team, receiving, analysing, and reporting on specimens for Pathological investigations.

What you will do:

  • Work unsupervised, including on shifts or on-call systems, to ensure seamless lab operations.
  • Perform a complex range of tests using scientific equipment on all samples received, including high-risk specimens.
  • Interpret and report results in accordance with service protocols to clinicians and nursing staff.
  • Ensure continual professional development as per Health Professions Council (HPC) requirements.
  • Train and supervise less experienced staff as directed by your line manager.
