A vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for a 2-year fixed term training contract leading to a level 3 pharmacy technician qualification, with registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) on successful completion.
Trainees are expected to work towards the attached job description and should not be expected to perform the full duties of the role until competencies are signed off. The pharmacy trainee will learn about pharmacy services under the guidance, direction, control or supervision of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other staff to practice the skills of a qualified pharmacy technician.
The successful candidate will undertake a 2-year comprehensive training and educational programme while working towards gaining the pharmacy technician qualification. This will enable registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) on successful completion and practice as a qualified pharmacy technician within the United Kingdom. The candidate is expected to maintain progress and meet the requirements of learning agreements signed by the trainee, the educational provider and the workplace.
Working hours are 37.5 per week, inclusive of weekend and late duty on a rotational basis. The candidate will be expected to cover a bank holiday shift once each year and will be required to complete rotations across the sites at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. Annual leave entitlement will be as per Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
